Kobold Expedition Tools tirelessly works to support the Navy SEALs, producing several watches field tested by the SEALs and one that can only be purchased by SEAL team members (past and present). As a part of the “Legend of Johnny the Mailman” campaign, we wanted to pay tribute to that relationship, and the families those SEALs protect.
As part of the brief, it was important to Michael Kobold to capture the levity displayed by his SEAL friends, and to capture moments beyond just the battlefield. Operation Tea-Time sets up the expectation of a classic battlefield clash, only to reverse those expectations when the battlefield turns out to be one of their daughter's play-rooms. This frame also allowed us to bring Johnny the Mailman into the campaign, our everyman who gets to hang out with all of the great adventurers and ambassadors of the Kobold brand.
Shot with a skeleton cast and crew while on location in Death Valley, California and the Kobold Farm in Pennsylvania, the spot is a wonder on a minimal budget.
